Ideally, take time after the massage before returning to work or other responsibilities that are counter to the effects of the massage, especially physically demanding or stressful tasks. You may feel invigorated, relaxed, or even sleepy after a massage. If you have had a difficult or stressful time recently you may realize you are more fatigued than you knew initially. A clinical massage often relieves chronic and acute pain, but leave a soreness or general ache due to the pressure used during the massage. Try to rest before returning to the activities that produce the tension or pain. It is important to increase the amount of water you typically drink for a couple of days after the massage. If you have any questions after your massage, please feel free to call or e-mail your therapist and discuss it with them. Back to:: The Massage | Up to: What to Expect |
